Creating Opportunities: Scholarships for Students from Florence Unified School District

Since 2011, Florence Copper has been providing scholarships to high school seniors from Florence High School and Poston Butte High School as part of its Creating Opportunities Scholarship Program. Students are typically required to submit an essay and video as part of the application process.The scholarships have been open to students of a variety of backgrounds and based on a combination of academic achievement, volunteer and work experience, extracurricular activities, and the quality of the submitted video and essays. Florence Copper's commitment to Responsible Mineral Development includes supporting the communities in closest proximity to our project. The Florence Copper Community Foundation was created to provide resources to initiatives that will effectively address community needs, particularly those with long-term sustainability.

The Florence Copper Community Foundation is committed to making a valuable contribution to the Town of Florence and greater Pinal County through charitable donations, community project support, and sponsorships.

Community Events and Sponsorships

Community Presentations & School Field Trips

Florence Copper is available to speak at local meetings for civic, social and church groups to give an overview of the benefits of the Florence Copper Project and answer questions about in-situ copper recovery.

Schools are also welcome to contact us for information about how Florence Copper can provide resources such as speakers for career days and free field trips for students within Florence and greater Pinal County. Students learn about the hydrogeological conditions right here in Florence.
